- Three
The number of Tigers with multiple hits. Victor Martinez, Yoenis Cespedes and James McCann all had two hits each.
- Zero
The number of runs allowed by the Tigers bullpen. This was another strong effort by the Detroit ‘pen as Blaine Hardy, Al Alburquerque and Joba Chamberlain all threw a scoreless inning each. They struck out a cumulative three batters. All three have struggled as of late so throwing scoreless innings will only help them moving forward.
- One
The number of walks drawn by the Tigers. The swing-happy J.D. Martinez was the only Detroit hitter with a walk. He didn’t strike out. The Tigers only struck out three times, but failed to muster much offense.
- Six
The number of runs allowed by starter Anibal Sanchez, who dropped to 2-4 on the season. Five of his runs on the day were earned, bringing his ERA to 5.44.
- Two
The number of Tigers hitters who lasted the entire game that went hitless. The two without hits? Miguel Cabrera and Ian Kinsler, two of the team’s best hitters. Andrew Romine also put up a zero in the hit column, but was subbed out in favor of Rajai Davis who pinch hit for him late in the game.
