• Cleveland– The Indians are one of the surprise teams this year. They have good young players like Asdrubal Cabrera, Chris Perez and Shin-Soo Choo. But like any other team they have holes. The Indians have a couple of areas that they could improve in. They could use a corner outfielder to plug in because of Shin-Soo Choo’s injury, and Austin Kearns having two homeruns and 6 runs batted in 48 games. A .212 batting average doesn’t help either. Kearns is a good player, but he’s just off to a slow start. The Indians are very young, and that includes their rotation. The only problem with that is that they don’t have a ton of experience.
• Possible Scenarios– Trade for an outfielder such as a Ryan Ludwick or Marlon Byrd. Mike Cameron and Reed Johnson aren’t bad options either. Cleveland could also go for an experienced starting pitcher who can eat innings such as current Astros Wandy Rodriguez or Brett Myers. Josh Willingham and David DeJesus could be good fits in the outfield.
