Brewers Acquire Jerry Hariston Jr.

The Milwaukee Brewers just lost All-Star second baseman Rickie Weeks for about six weeks. They filled the newly-vacated hole with former National Jerry Hariston Jr.

Hariston is no stranger to mid-season trades having been dealt to the Yankees at the ’09 deadline. The move doesn’t come as a huge surprise because of the injury, but the Brew-Crew also added Felipe Lopez from the Rays.  So, they might use a committee to solve the second base issue until Weeks returns. Both Hariston and Lopez can play 2nd, Short and 3rd, the latter two of which the Brewers have been looking to upgrade.
