27—number of points scored by Bulls big man Pau Gasol, a new season high. Gasol also had 11 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and a steal. Gasol has played nine games this season, and has posted a double-double in six of them.

16—number of points scored by Raptors forward James Johnson. Like Gasol’s 27, the 16 points were a season high for Johnson, a player who often does the dirty work for Toronto. Johnson also registered five rebounds, four blocks, four steals and an assist.

20, 8 and 8—the points, rebounds and assists totals for Toronto guard Kyle Lowry. This was yet another instance where the Raptors playmaker came close to a triple-double. He finished four rebounds short of one in the team’s opening game against Atlanta before posting an actual triple-double in a win over Washington.
