Indians Acquire Kosuke Fukudome

The Cleveland Indians have been hit by injuries in their outfield. They are currently without starting outfielders Grady Sizemore and Shin-Soo Choo, who are both on the DL.
So naturally it makes sense that they acquired an outfielder. That outfielder is Kosuke Fukudome.

Fukudome,34, has a .273 batting average with 3 HRs and 13 RBIs in 87 games for the Cubs. He will automatically make an impact for the Tribe.  They were using an outfield of Michael Brantley, Ezquiel Cabrera and Travis Buck. In a related note, Buck was designated for assignment to make room for Fukudome. Once healthy the Indians should have a solid outfield with Sizemore, Choo and Fukudome. He will also give them a quality bat at the six or seven spot in the lineup.
In return the Cubs picked up minor league outfielder Abner Abreu and reliever Carlton Smith. The Indians also get some money, around 3.9 million, to help offset Fukudome’s 14 million and change salary.
